When does your interview really start?

So you get up on the morning of your interview and wonder when your interview realistically begins, is it the moment you enter the building, are your prospective employers watching your every move as you sit nervously in the waiting area or does it start once you enter the interview room, what about when you first make contact with an employee there?? These questions could drive you mad however the lesson is that when going to an interview you should act professional at all times and should act in a way that you would be happy for a potential employer to witness.
Unfortunately this was not the case in a story that recently appeared in the news, a man in London was on his was to work and travelling on the tube when he was rudely pushed out of the way by a fellow commuter and sworn at. On arriving at work the man prepared to interview his first candidate of the day only to find that the man he was interviewing was the very same commuter who swore at him only hours before!
Needless to say that interview certainly did not begin in the interview room and rightly or wrongly a bad first impression can stick, so consider your actions and always try to remain professional to avoid such a faux pas.
