Make your CV stand out from the pile

When an organisation heavily advertises their job vacancies, they’ll attract hundreds, sometimes thousands of CVs. This means that it can be quite difficult to make yours stand out, but it’s not impossible.

A clear layout can make all the difference to a good CV, and the employer will not want to have to ready through thick chucks of content to find the information he or she needs. If possible, it’s always good to have your CV fit on one page. Remember they don’t want your life story; they just want to see if you’re appropriate for the job position.

You can create a grid style layout or perhaps just nicely sized paragraphs, one for qualifications, one for job history, skills and your personals statement. Colours can exist on a CV so you don’t always have to go for bland black and white. Try bringing yours to life with some colours while URLs to your websites or social media pages can be really beneficial, depending on the content found on this site.
